FAQ’s about grooming
-
This depends on a variety of factors including the size of the dog and the type of salon service requested. In general, a bath and brush is the quickest service, followed by a mini groom and then full groom. Also, smaller dogs are typically a quicker groom than larger breeds. It takes around an hour for your dog to be prepped and bathed. The blow dry can take between 15 minutes for small dogs or shorthaired breeds and 90 minutes for larger dogs and longhaired breeds. The haircut itself usually lasts between 45 and 90 minutes, again dependent on the size of dog, coat type, and haircut. Specialty haircuts take longer such as lion cuts, pom poms, and show clips. Dog training and behavior often influence the duration of the groom. For first time pets and puppies we ask for a little patience as we train your pet as part of the process.
-
Tailored Tails does not provide water, treats, or food of any kind to your animal during the grooming process. We do not want to introduce your pet to anything that could make them ill or flare up diagnosed or undiagnosed medical issues. This includes food and treats that you provide from home. The safety of your pet is our top priority.
*Exceptions can be made for special medical conditions diagnosed by a veterinarian.

Your dog's safety is our top priority followed closely by completing the grooming efficiently to reduce the amount of time they may have to wait for pickup. The kennel has grates which allow the dog to use the restroom should they need to. If your pet needs to stay beyond pick up time, we will be happy to add them to the indoor/outdoor play rotation upon request.
FAQ’s About Playcare
-
Absolutely! Dogs are pack animals, so socialization is a key part of their nature! Playing with other dogs makes your dog happy and well-adjusted. If your dog is shy, a warm introduction to playcare can help them become more sociable.
At Tailored Tails your dog will interact in one of our off-leash play yards based on their level socialization and temperament. Our goal is to provide your dog with a full day of engaging activities within a pack environment to ensure that they enjoy their stay.
We understand that not every dog is sociable. If your dog gravitates towards a more solitary lifestyle, they can still participate in playcare within a play-rotation schedule. This style of play allows for your dog to receive all of the activities provided in typical playcare while keeping your pet as comfortable as possible.
-
Yes! Dogs need exercise just as much as humans do! When your dog attends playcare our staff make it a priority to get every single dog up and moving throughout the day. They'll burn off some energy while also being mentally stimulated. Pets and belly rubs are our specialty!

-
Before grooming appointment : When used before a groom, playcare is a smart tool to help get some of that puppy energy out and ensure your dog gets their best groom possible. It could also be used if you need to drop your dog off before 8am.
After Grooming appointment : When used after a groom, playcare is a convenient option for owners who have a hard time leaving work during the day to pick up and transport their dog home during their lunch break. With pickup as late as 6pm you will have plenty of time after work to come collect your freshly groomed loved one.
FAQ’s About Boarding
-
If your dog has siblings they can stay in the same suite. We offer a low rate per additional dog.
-
No! We utilize a play rotation schedule to give your dog a healthy balance of playtime in our indoor and outdoor play yards at no additional charge. They will be let out with dogs they get along with and given time to rest and recharge while other dogs take their turn. A majority of their time will be spent on a rotation of play time, nap time, and feeding times.
